Mission: The organization is committed to raising funds to support vital research programs at the sylvester comprehensive cancer center at the university of miami miller school of medicine.

Programs: Through the fundraising efforts of its more than 21,000 members, funds were raised to allow a donation of $4. 5 million to the sylvester comprehensive cancer center at the university of miami miller school of medicine. The funds allow the physicians and scientists at the sylvester center to carry on cancer research programs and clinical trials in an effort to discover new treatments and to ultimately find cures for various types of cancer.

the organization publishes a journal and a newsletter made available to members and chapters. The journal includes memorials or tributes to individuals who have suffered from cancer. These help to increase public awareness of the need for funds for cancer research.
